Heather Herrera

Mrs. Herrera is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development and her Master of Science degree in Education with a concentration in Reading Instruction. Mrs. Herrera has taught in the traditional elementary classroom setting, as well as worked with students in Special Education, and after school enrichment programs. She is excited to work with students in the K-8 program at Bayshore Prep.

Mrs. Herrera is originally from Orange County, California, but relocated to San Diego after getting married earlier this year. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family, baking, reading, and playing with her dogs.

Our mission at Bayshore Preparatory Charter School is to educate K-12 students through a rigorous college prep curriculum in a flexible, student-centered learning environment. Our goal is to actively partner with students, parents, and the community to support students’ academic success and personal goals.


Bayshore is a tuition-free, open-enrollment public school. Students are accepted regardless of background or academic record on a first-come, first-served basis. Thank you San Marcos Community Foundation! We received a $1000 mini grant to take a field trip kayaking in La Jolla and to the Birch Aquarium for 9-12 graders.
